God is Not Confused

Question Mark

As we have moved offices around at Headquarters, we have found many treasures as we have purged files and cleaned out cabinets. I found one particular article that I wrote in May 2007 that was published in The Jerusalem Post Christian Edition of particular interest.

The opening sentence read, “If headlines screamed, ‘Over one billion people living today will become infected with deadly avian flu,’ government health agencies would spring into action to stop it.” Being on the other side of COVID, I know that we all have a different thought about how government health agencies handle global pandemics.

The world we live in today is much different than the world we lived in less than 20 years ago in 2007; however, some things have remained the same and that is the abuse of the female gender. Sexual abuse, slavery, mutilation, beatings, murders, and false imprisonment await for a large part of the female gender around the world.

In 2007, “The UN General Assembly defined violence against women as ‘any act of gender-based violence that results in, or is likely to result in physical, sexual or mental harm or suffering to women, including threats of such acts, coercion, or arbitrary deprivation of liberty, whether occurring in public or in private life.’”

In 2022, as reported in USA Today, Senator Marsha Blackburn asked then nominee for Supreme Court justice position to define a ‘woman’. The reply from Ketanji Brown Jackson was, “I’m not a biologist.” Senator Blackburn replied, “the fact that you can’t give me a straight answer about something as fundamental as what a woman is underscores the dangers of the kind of progressive education that we are hearing about.” (USA Today, published March 24, 2022 and updated March 27, 2022)

In the April 23, 2024 issue of The Washington Stand, Ben Johnson wrote, “The Biden administration’s revision of a civil rights statute designed to protect women’s rights in education erases women’s protections, rewrites landmark civil rights legislation to advance the LGBT agenda by federal fiat, and waters down legal standards for those falsely accused of sexual harassment.”

The Biden administration obliterates the unique rights intended for women and girls by claiming Title IX’s prohibitions of discrimination against females in education apply to men who identify as women — regardless of their outward appearance — as well as those who identify as homosexual. Its “unofficial final rule,” released on April 19, now claims LGBTQIA+ activists may cite protections intended for women to accuse their fellow students of discrimination based on “sex stereotypes, sex characteristics, pregnancy or related conditions, sexual orientation, and gender identity.”

As I have watched the unfolding of gender confusion being taught in public schools, as a mother, a grandmother, and an apostolic leader of a global movement, I find myself deeply disturbed. It affects each of us and we must not remain silent.

Rebecca Jordan-Young, a scientist and gender studies scholar at Barnard College (currently on sabbatical until Fall 2024) whose work explores the relationships between science and the social hierarchies of gender and sexuality has said, “There isn’t one single ‘biological’ answer to the definition of a woman. There’s not even a singular biological answer to the question of ‘what is a female’.” (USA Today, published March 24, 2022 and updated March 27, 2022)

For as long as I have been President of Aglow, you have heard me say many times through the years from the beginning in Genesis 1, God created man in His image, both male and female. From man’s side, He made woman. In Genesis 1:28 He blessed them and told them both to be fruitful, multiply, subdue the earth, and take dominion over it. Dominion was to be accomplished by male and female working together.

In the Garden, Satan, understanding women’s unique intended purpose, tried to gain the upper hand by turning her from the strength of her role. However, when God came in the cool of the evening, she exposed Satan as the deceiver and he is still active as a deceiver today. Genesis 3:15 clearly explains why the hatred of women and the female gender is so sick, violent, and goes to the extreme levels it goes to in 2024. It began in the Garden and continues to this day.

As women and men who understand the ways of God and know our assignment in the earth, we must continue to expose Satan’s agenda and to crush his head through prayer and declaration. You and I are passionate advocates for this generation and generations to come. They are counting on us to breakthrough, tear down, and build up the significant, unique role of women in God’s plan for the nations of the world. We cannot be silent!
