Fast for the U.S. Elections
The Word of God is very clear in its instruction to us regarding prayer for those in authority.
I exhort first of all that supplications, prayers, intercessions, and giving of thanks be made for all men, for kings and all who are in authority, that we may lead a quiet and peaceable life in all godliness and reverence. I Timothy 2:1-2
As we approach Election Day, November 5, 2024, our atmosphere becomes increasingly filled with messages from those running for office. These messages can be filled with attacks for the opposing running mate. The words can bring division and lack of peace. But our instruction for prayer is not in relation to political parties, or even personal preferences. We are simply told to pray for those in authority over us.
I have felt impressed by the Spirit to call for a time of fasting and prayer as we approach this serious time. Therefore, I am asking you to join with me from October 1 – November 5.
It has been said of Aglow that we are called for such a time as this. We are hearing many say that this election is the most important election ever! So, as ones called of God, as the governmental Ecclesia here on earth, let us enter into this season with joyful hearts, yet with a serious mindset as we approach Heaven on behalf of earth.
A simple prayer for governmental leaders would be…
Holy Spirit, we ask You to fill our city, state, and national governmental leaders with wisdom, understanding, discernment, and knowledge. We ask that favor be granted to those who align most closely with Biblical values concerning marriage, life, and supporting Israel.
A simple prayer for the election process would be….
Holy Spirit, we ask that You protect each vote cast through the mail or in person. We call for angelic hosts to assist our prayer to safeguard the counting of votes by registered voters. We declare that there will be no election interference or miscounting of votes, or obstruction.
We are moving outside the walls of our gathering places and into the halls of Kingdom legislation.
